PCRL Inception Workshop

The Inception Workshop on “Promoting Climate-Resilient Livelihoods in Rice-Based Communities in the Tonle Sap Region”  was conducted to (1) provide an overview of the project, including objectives, activities, and implementation methods, (2) discuss with relevant stakeholders and identify action plans, including indicators for each component in order to validate the project's priority action plan, (3) collect inputs and feedback from stakeholders to implement the project effectively, and (4) increase synergies with key partners and stakeholders at all levels.

The Inception Workshop was presided over by HE Dr. Yang Saing Koma, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and attended by Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, Ladies and Gentlemen from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Women's Affairs, representatives of FAO, Development Partners, representatives of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, representatives of the Department of Environment of the five target provinces of the project, as well as Local and International NGOs representatives of agricultural communities, farmers' associations and the private sector, with a total of 82 participants (19 females).

The workshop proceeded into three sessions comprising (1) Opening and Introductions, (2) Technical Presentations and Discussions, and (3) Closing of the Workshop.

In the end, the whole workshop achieved better results than expected. It was closed by Lok Chumteav Mom Thany, MoE Secretary of State with interesting Closing Remarks.
