Special mission delegation from FAO
On the morning of December 16, 2024, a special mission team from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations visited the Romdoul Tean Kam Agricultural Cooperative in Tean Kam Tboung village, located in the Tean Kam commune of Preah Net Preah district, Banteay Meanchey province.
The mission was warmly received by the PCRL project team, representatives from the Banteay Meanchey Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, district agricultural officers, commune agricultural officers, local authorities, and the Romdoul Tean Kam Agricultural Cooperative Committee. In total, there were 36 participants, including 11 women.
The FAO delegation took the opportunity to learn about the progress of the PCRL project, particularly the rice seed production it supports, as well as insights into the rice market and economic analysis related to community rice seed production. Additionally, the delegation met with a group of 11 rice seed farmers, including 5 women, who utilized 16.3 hectares of land for rice seed production and achieved satisfactory yields.
