Workshop on Reflection AWPB2025

On October 31, 2025, the PCRL project under grant financing from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized a “Workshop on Reflection Progress of Project Implementation in 2024 and Preparation of the Work Plan in 2025 in Siem Reap Angkor.

The workshop was attended by a total of 84 key stakeholders, 19 women, including the Project Management Unit, the Working Group of the General Directorate of Agriculture and the General Directorate of Local Community, the International and National Consultants of PCRL, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Department of Environment of the five target provinces, Implementing Partners (IPs) include IRRI, WCS, and CiRD, as well as the Commune Agriculture Officials.

The purpose of this workshop was to (1) review the overall project implementation achievements in 2024 identify the constraints and difficulties that were encountered and document lessons learned, (2) reach an agreement on the scope of project activities under each component for 2025 and validate the priority activities and budget for implementation, AND (3) support team building and strengthen the synergies between IPs and all key project stakeholders at all levels. The workshop also included group discussions focusing on the review of proposed activities, methodologies, time frame, roles and responsibilities of the project stakeholders.

After participating in this important workshop, all relevant stakeholders have a common understanding of the overall project goal and objectives and the project implementation in the past year and they also validated the overall project activities under each component of the draft AWPB2025. All stakeholders will enhance collaboration and synergy among the three implementation partners, key stakeholders, and development partners at all levels to ensure the successful implementation of this project according to the established plan.

It should be noted that the project is being implemented jointly by the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the General Directorate of Local Community (GDLC) of the Ministry of Environment (MoE). The technical and operational execution is augmented by the three Implementing Partners (IPs) - IRRI, WCS, and CiRD that are providing technical support.
