Provincial Orientation Workshop in Siem Reap

The General Department of Local Community (GDLC) of the Ministry of Environment (MoE), in collaboration with the General Department of Agriculture (GDA) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), organized a Provincial Orientation Workshop on the GEF-funded Promoting Climate Resilient  Livelihoods in Rice Based Communities in the Tonle Sap Region project (PCRL) in Siem Reap Province on the 1st February 2024, with the participation of a total of 89 stakeholders (17 women) from national level and target provinces, including Siem Reap and Kampong Thom.

The Provincial Orientation Workshop in Siem Reap was conducted to (1) to introduce the PCRL project to involve key stakeholders in each target province for a common understanding of the project overview, (2) to discuss the proposed main activities in the draft AWPB 2024 with the relevant stakeholders and validate the priorities of ACs and CPAs’ target areas for implementation, (3) to establish synergies among GDA, GDLC, consultant teams, and provincial coordinators, involve stakeholders, implementing partners, ACs, and CPAs at sub-national and local levels.

The PCRL project design and the draft AWBP for 2024 will be presented to all relevant stakeholders from provincial and commune levels to seek their comment/feedback and reach a consensus on the implementation strategies and the scope of the activities and target areas to achieve the intended project outcomes.
